Porting Outfoxed

2005-06-18 Note: Udo has compiled Mac and Linux versions. We need to wrap it up into an installation package though...so hopefully next week. Register to be notified by email when it's ready.

As a one-man project, and a student project at that, I'm afraid I don't have access to multiple platforms or the time to seek them out. If you can compile Outfoxed for another platform, it would be a great service to everyone. Please contact me if you have created a working executable and I'll put it online right away.

Your Porting Outfoxed note ha

Your Porting Outfoxed note has a date of 2005-06-18 and mentions the existence of compiled Mac and Linux versions. Apparently you expected it to take a week for the installation package to be completed. I remember signing up for an email notifaction when these versions are completed.

It is now 35 weeks later! Outfoxed still looks awesome, and I, along with many others I'm sure, would love to experience it. At the least, please update this message so we have a better idea of what is going on.

I'd be willing to test out an compiled/installable version on my Ubuntu install. I'll test it in a separate account, so any bugs won't damage my data.

Another voice in the wilderness for a Mac version of this... I am really excited to get this going. The concept is pretty amazing, and the simplicity of it all blows me away... I use Firefox as my primary browser right now for stability and speed, but when Flock releases their next version bump this week, I'll probably switch over to it completely. Outfoxed and Flock have the potential to go hand in hand. There is chatter on the Flockstars listhost about people trying to get Outfoxed to work with Flock... Keep up the good work.

The 'Register to be notified

The 'Register to be notified by email when its ready' link doesn't seem to work. I get some sort of 'unauthorized' error message even though I'm logged in.

It looks like that "register" means register for an account, not register for a mailing list to be informed when the port is ready.

But that's just my guess ;)

W00t! Another Linux user! But all OS's which aren't controlled by the Corporate DRM-machine (or soon to be in that case) Microsoft, they're good by me.

I'm running minislack myself, but it's changing its name soon, so I have no idea what I'll call it then. :P
